easier said than done sometimes but good advice
Just don't let go... I don't ever let go of my ski. EVER!!!!
x10
and if you want to simulate what a leashon a ski will be like....
find a great dane, and a cat. Tie Dane to ankle, release cat...and see what happens
oh, and do all this while holding breath.

sometimes you dont have a choice but the times that you do loose the ski you wouldnt want to be attachehed to it anyways...also stan get a helmet..we rode down here yesterday and it was only waist high but i nosed the sand on a reentry and went over the bars and the ski smashed me in the head...i would have been knocked out for sure if i didnt have it on.....you are out there charging when its overhead without one...
so the wave is the Great Dane.....
:Thinkingof_:
lol
nice visual
lol...actually, woudlnt the ski be the great dane and the cat the wave?

this is kinda what I had in mind.....
never let go is what i try to to but the forces are just gnar! couple times lately i bailed just to save my ankle. i neeeed straps.
maybe i should start riding with a lanyard. duh!
wyd you shoulda came up, pismo was still showing consistent OH sets on outside till noon. pretty walled, but holding up long. the inside had some nice little breaks to brap on. oh and finished off the day with a SCWEEET lawn dart onto the beach!
helmets my next mod.![]()
The only time I bail is when I'm going to come down hard on the tail and hit bottom, but that's always in smallish, shallow surf so it doesn't matter much.
what about when the bottom drops out on an overhead wave and you take a little trip over the falls?..[/quote
I still try to hold on... I definately don't want to be seperated from the ski ever... that to me is the time when you really need to try to hang on for life and power thru the whitewater.. I don't like being held down in a wave either though and that can happen if you don't let go..
