Yamaha called the FX-1 pole setup the High Pivot System. I think they did it to copy the look of the 550 (which was still a popular machine back then), or to make it look different than the Squarenose, or to make it easier to ride. I remember when the SX-R came out, Kawasaki marketed that its pole was mounted higher to reduce rider fatigue.

I would rather have a recessed pole for the looks, but at least this way it won't pinch my fingers :smile: I'll be running a lowered Waterdawg pole bracket on it, which Jeff says affects the handling quite a bit.

Jeff made a FX top deck with over a 3" drop on the handle pole mount. However you must channel you own hood. At least that is what my buddy is having to do. Talk about tons of work!

Hmmm, Jeff told me about that idea but I didn't know that he actually built one. I like mine the way it is. My hood is pretty solid and it's around 6 pounds. I could see the lowered bracket being nice for hoodtricks, however, I don't do hoodtricks.

I was actually talking to Jeff today about the F1 pro and he didnt seem bothered by the idea of channeling the hood for the pole. But Im curious about a nosepiece of sorts something to cover up that bracket anyway. Either way im curious as to how it will turn out Im thinking about doing the same thing next year.

all you can do is keep calling Jeff. You need to stay on him. He likes to say his shipping guy is getting it out today and he will call back with a tracking #. Don't buy it...call back later and ask for update. Jeff is a great guy and Waterdawg Kustomz is a great company, he just needs to realize that his "shipper is makeing his business look bad. Jeff you listening???

As for the nosepiece...even on a SJ the area above the bracket is not covered.

If WDK is such a good company then why has Mike had to wait for over a year.................. A good company does not pass off excuses........ I should know, I got behind and forgot to order some materials for a job, got my ass chewed by a contractor this morning....... guess what.... It was my fault, I had to ask him for another shot.......... Jeff needs to stand up and make right by his customers.

Not yet, it is waiting to go out with my hull and a few others. He has them all crated up and ready to go. He switched to a freight company named "pilot" that will is evidently pretty good (http://www.pilotair.com/) He had to spend today setting up his account and sorting though the paperwork to become a cliant. This way all he has to do is print a shipping lable and they pick it up at his shop. This should reslove the issues he has had in the past concering hull shipments.

They have a hub in the Portland area so it should make things easy. Last I heard Butti got his hull that shipped on a friday the following monday, and that was to Fl, so they ship pretty fast.

Yup, Jeff was outside with 4 crates waiting on the truck from Pilot to pick them up. Should be either at the hub or in the air right now. They were shipped economy so I kind of expect mine on Wednesday or Thursday next week.

i agree . think this rule goes for any shop owner.dont order a motor and take 6 months to get it to me.lately heard so much about different shops and not producing motors and parts ect.i personally would call a company out in a second if this bs happen to me id personally go to there shop and not leave with out my stuff or money.

Jeff does good on the all fiberglass stuff. His production has really picked up in that area due to more guys in the shop. I think this industry is just really small and stuff is usually not sitting on a shelf. When i ordered stuff from XFT last year I had to wait over 3 months for a handlepole, bracket and gas tank. I have done business w/ just about everyone and it seems to be hit or miss sometimes. A 3 months wait on a hull is average. 6 months is pretty crappy from a production stand point, but then again if the hull is being custom painted that might not be that bad of a wait for a complete build.

When something takes forever to get, usually the manufacturer/shop has already spent the money and therefore they are in no rush to complete the job (I have found this to be true anyway). It's very unfortunate but these shops aren't big and money is tight (I'm guessing). I'm hoping everything arrives safely so you can start your build! Keep us posted.
