Any land boot that is not made of neoprene is gonna stink pretty bad after riding in salt water unless you spend a couple of minutes to wash them in fresh water at the end of the day.

Do you have a habit of smelling your shoes after you ride?

*shrug* anyone who hasn't tried wrestling shoes really ought to give it a try. Frankly, neoprene doesn't give much ankle support, so I'm not sure how much better the boots can be in that dept. Back when my ankles were bothering me, I wore a couple ankle braces for support.

I'm only so pushy about it because I was the same way as some of you. I was into the boots, and wouldn't even entertain the idea of wrestling shoes. Who knew..I was wrong.

No, I don't... you'll know what I am talking about when you open your locker door or car trunk and that smell hits you. :sneaky:

I definitely know what you mean....my girlfriend hated when I'd leave my box of gear in her explorer. Now that I have a truck, I don't have that problem though.

the EVS jetski gloves are GREAT...ive had mine since daytona and havent even popped a stitch on them...

I burn thru the waterski gloves every 3 mo's or so...especially the left...

so, if anyone needs any right gloves I have 3-4 :)

asics work great.....but suck without neo underneath them...

I found a pair of shoes on onlineshoes.com. They are made by merrell. They are not boots but they are great. They are easy on the feet and you can wear them around all day and just jump on your ski when you get to the beach. cost 70 bucks.

Merrell makes a great, comfortable shoe......at least that is what my grandfather tells me....lol

The trick to keeping your wrestling shoes stink free is get the wife to throw them in the washing machine. Get her to add some of that fancy smelling stuff and you'll be a stud at the beach.

My last pair of Slippery boots started coming apart after a month, the Asics are doing great.

I was tired of teh seams falling apart on the slippery gloves. They would fall apart before you could wear through them. I bought some Thor MX gloves and they had holes in them in 1 month. I will be going to ski golves if I can find a pair that I like. If not then I am back to Slippery. Gloves.

And boots I have tried all sorts but my favorite are still the Slippery Comp boots.

I like the JP gloves. I have a full season on them and they are still´in good shape. The JP shoes suck big time. I went through 2 pairs in 3 months, kept falling apart. Got my money back and bought some Neilpryde surf shoes. Decent shoe, but no support for your arch.
Now I am using Seasoft Stealths. Used thew 3 times so far, great shoes. Got these recommended by John at JSS, seems to be the shiat!

Hey Crockett, Slippery had some kind of Sizing adjustment, I think the XL shoe is for a Japanese,Chinese persons foot, which on average is smaller.... that my only guess, same with the wetsuits......

YOu need some kind of shoes with ankle protection if your riding with footholds.
