300/440/550 SX vs Wedoseadoo

I have never seen such a pathetic group of imaturity since the girls at my 6th grade dance. Are you sure you are all in the right click? "Guess what I heard...hee, hee, hee...guess what I saw...what a looser..." You all honestly should take a look at yourselves. Absolute jokes you are.

That is hilarious Mr Ski and by posting here you have really reinforced what I already think about you,BTW its not good, just in case you didn't get the memo.I know you are just jealous because we don't let threads go on for 1000 posts about putting 440 pumps behind PJS motors ,something thats been done a ridiculous number of times over 10 years ago,I won't even ask where you got the idea to install that engine in front of a 550 to start with, you really need to get over it ,no really I mean it get over it now.

I had one stock PJS std bore piston and one PJS .050 piston,I just needed one piston to complete one set.Its all good now.

Did you get a pjs piston, or did you get a wiseco and cut it like your other one? This is a kawi reed engine right? Not a westcoast or a pjs reed correct?

It is a Kawi reed engine but I am running wiseco pistons with the boost windows like go into the PJS engines,I did have to mod the new piston to the PJS specs. The Kawi 550 is the only one that has any bottom end power.I also have a PJS 550 it screams on top end but has no bottom end whatsoever.

Ive got a couple of 550 pistons with holes in them (the "boost" holes in the sides of the skirt) sitting around my garage, they are in a wiseco box and still look nice...are they worth anything?

They are to anyone running a PJS 550 engine.

I guess they would be to someone who wants a stock pjs 550. We get wiseco pistons and run a custom cut.. we now how way more top and bottem.. I am not talking a little bit here.. A really noticable difference.. Bottem and top end are unbelievable.. will rip your arms off all the way from off idle to a screaming top end.

Yes but didn't you say in the other thread that they eat cranks like candy after that mod.

True enough, but I think we solved that problem by bumping up our oil ratio and putting a stub shaft on the front of the fly wheel and putting a bearing through the front cover to help support the flywheel and offset the torque from the rod. Now the boat starts better because the flywheel is supported when the bendix gear hits the ring gear. The engine also revs smoother and much quicker. The front crank web was actually wobbling in the crankcase and putting way to much stress on the front bearing resulting in frequent bearing failure. This was even with the crank welded. I guess the crank pin doesnt go into the crank web tight enough to handle the power out put I guess.

These covers you are talking about were made for the kawi 550 right? The pjs engine has a different flywheel cover due to a different crankcase. It wasnt to bad to bore ours out.. just put it into a 4 jaw chuck on the lath and centered the cover to where the bearing needed to be and then just bored the hole.. no big deal. we did two in about 2 hours. I just never knew that they were doing this back in the day on the kawi skis. No body seemed to be breaking any crank webs when I asked the other day. But I guess this is primarily a superjet website, and 550's arent as popular anymore. We sure like ours.. we can easily outrun a stock sxr800 and a bad to the bone 750, but still ride twice as long on a tank of gas.:arms:

Well true nobody is breaking crank webs now,but back in the day when 440 superstocks ruled they were tweaking these to within an inch of their life and yes parts were breaking on a regular basis.I don't remember seeing the ocean pro version but Ada had one for the Kawi 440-550 that ran that extra bearing up front and it had some kind of flywheel bolt-cap that fit into the bearing.I have some old mags laying around here and there was a lot of kewl stuff back then if you had the bucks, titanium driveshafts, extrudehoned pumps, all the Bad Bones stuff, the Westcoast dual total loss that I am running on my ski now,the list goes on and on.Just very few people building these fast Kawi 440-550 engines anymore.
