Dear forum members,


As of now, it is myself and Penguin who are modding the forums. We would like to set some ground rules so you know what is expected.

There have been numerous posts lately asking why threads have been locked, posts deleted, and member banned. The policy of not discussing bannings will remain in effect, however, this one time I will inform you why threads were locked.

Bottom line, the extra moderation, on my part, is due to the antagonistic and rude behavior that has been exhibited lately. There will be ZERO TOLERANCE for this behavior. If it is posted, a ten day infraction will be imposed on all parties and the post will be edited if possible or otherwise deleted.

I know many of you are friends, and we are all acquaintances. There will be friction between some, and cliques with others but it has been exhibited on this site (as well as PWCToday) that we can get along better than we have lately.

We do not want to censor members, nor perform any moderation. However, when you act like children you will be treated as such. Our goal is to have zero moderation, but will do so if you treat each other like chit.

Make your points and discuss topics but do realize personal attacks, bickering, and antagonism will not be tolerated. If you do not want to be censored, treat your peers with respect.

The goal of the site is to promote a positive image of stand-up riders, promote the sport, and increase exposure (Freerides).

The antagonism and personal attacks have to stop.

example:

You know I pm'ed him over there,funny thing is he didn't have a bad word to say about any of you,it would seem that you would extend him the same courtesy ,no wait,I forgot whom it was that I was addressing there for a moment,my bad.

The statement in blue was a good point on the discussion, but the red is irrelevant to the point and contains the antagonistic attitude we need to eradicate. This is one example of hundreds that have been posted.

This is not directed to wedoseadoo, nor am I making an example of him, there are many of you who have done the same. (Disclaimer: I contacted wedoseadoo via PM requesting his permission to use this example, and was granted permission.)


If you do not like being censored, then you all need to be nice... no antagonistic or personal attacks. Don't do those two things and there will be less moderation, bannings, closed threads, or deleted posts.

Guidelines will be created and posted for reference, but all we ask is for r-e-s-p-e-c-t.

I do agree with trying to clean up the site, and have people treat each other with more respect. But you need to remember that we are friends, and most of the folks here are guys as well, and how do guys treat their buddies? They rank on them, call them names, etc...it's been how guys communicate amongst themselves since caveman times. And with this being the written word, not a face to face communication, it may be tough for the mods to tell the difference between good natured ribbing between friends, and someone seriously being a ****head to someone else. Are strategically placed smilies gonna be enough? :biggrin:

I do agree with trying to clean up the site, and have people treat each other with more respect. But you need to remember that we are friends, and most of the folks here are guys as well, and how do guys treat their buddies? They rank on them, call them names, etc...it's been how guys communicate amongst themselves since caveman times. It is one thing to rib on a friend, it is another thing when you are calling someone out.......... (See the past few weeks, threads about watercraft factory, waterdawg, Yamaslut /Yamasaki vs Royalflush).........those are the kind of threads michael is referring too............

I like to joke with the best of them..........

No blood, no aggression, no censorship.

I don't care if you bash Waterdawg, Watercraft Factory, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Ford, Toyota, elected officials, etc. as long as you state facts and can back what you say. However, you start disrespecting other members (antagonistic remarks or personal attacks) and that is what will result in action by moderators.

The mods frequent the board enough to know the cliques and know who jeers whom. Good example are the west coast and east coast riders... but when you get the Co-Tex crew jeering the east/west coast riders, then you read more carefully.
