So now that everyone who is anyone is doing/trying backflips I figured I better find where I put my balls this winter and get to work. Could one of the backflip aficionados advise me on this picture from January and answer these questions for me:

1) is my Head doing what it should?
2) are my hips in the right place?
3) are my arms doing what they should?
4) is my timing good?
5) if i was further to the left would I have made it past a pancake?

It seems without a pole ski I need to sacrafice proper head look over to get my hips out the back enough to get it to come over?

I did use my trim in this try and apparantly it doesn't do much if you aren't a lot closer.

I am trying to get a new X2 together that is 40 pounds lighter up front to make it a little more like a superjet to flip. That might help some. My red one is 350 dry :frown:

Pete, you got a little past have with in seaside....
You need to hit the wave way later !
You can come down, anytime... I will stay on beach or go on a couch and help !

You want that wave, vertical to help you complete it while learning...

After learning, pic anything and flipit.

Definately let the wave do the work. As far as your arms and hips that is personal preference, some say for BF's on a ski your body needs to be strait but a lot don't. It is what is comfortable to you. Here is a cool pic, I like to leave the wave right as it starts breaking.

I can't even roll, but I have watched Slut/Pete/Paul/Havell up close and it seems sometimes they just sort of let the wave flip them over with hardly any gas at all....

I think they're going into the wave as it crests over...

It is soooooo hard not to turn out when the wave is right for a backflip. The problem is I have that self preservation thing that goes off and tells me how much I don't want to spend 2 months in the hospital again. I know the jetski is safer than snow was but it is hard to override that alarm when i is going off.

Pete sure lets the wave do all the work.

I have seen Pete hit waves so late he travels BACKWARDS and lands way up on the top/ back of the wave. It blows my mind!

I asked him once if it was like rolling out of bed, he said it is easier.

I need to wait... wait.....wait.....:banghead:

Saki, I am all about "feeling it" for some reason I wasn't really "feeling it" this weekend. I did like two rolls and just cruised surf.

I tend to take longer to get the rust out after a long time off and I hadn't been wet since january in Daytona. I was riding with you guys this weekend I would be more ready to push it in my head.

Eric really has me stoked for this season though! I am going to try to keep up with him! Well he only does one trick right? Oh yeah it is a backflip! Doohh!
