Anyone seen this before?

701 powered dinghy. I have an opportunity to pick it up. Unclear just yet if it has paperwork but a friend in the business has a client that said it was sitting inside his yatchs garage since God knows when.

Looks like a cool resto project but lord knows I don't need another outlet with money, curious if anyone knows it's worth restored or if it's even sought after?

Is the juice worth the squeeze?

I have not seen that particular one but in the late 80's and early 90's Yamaha sold thoseengine and pump setups to anyone that would buy them , they ended up in Jet N Cats , Jet N sprays , Boston whalers , the revamped Wetjets made by Mastercraft , a weird looking ski called a UFO and who knows what else .

The Jet N Cats started out with WR500 engines and pumps , they didn't work all that well , later models like the Jet N Sprays had 650's and 701's which worked much better , I believe the Boston Whalers only had 701's in them , Wetjets were 701's and the UFO thing was based on a 650 Waverunner lll .

Dude. Endless pit. Like encyclopedia for all things unknown jetski. Awesome.

I love these Yamaha powered odd-ball not very common crafts. I'd say jump on this one ASAP. A 701 with a B pipe, ADA head, some port work, and a Hooker prop would make that thing scoot!

It will be like everything I ever pickup thinking it's something I need and a month later I now have to find a home for this poop, focus just on the Superjet.

I would just have to do a real flying saucer pantjob on it for the full effect lol .

My understanding is only 300 were built and most were sold in Florida as rental skis.

I think they were made like bumper cars for the Florida rental scene , look at the size of the rub rail on that thing !.

Maybe I should just build one with plywood ribs on top of a Waverunner lll hull and a triple in it lol .

Thanks , I have been around a minute or so.

I was there when a lot of this stuff weird came out , I remember the Wetjet's coming out both times under Wetjet and under Mastercraft they used to send salesmen out with demo skis when they were trying to set up dealerships Seadoos , Tigetsharks and several other brands , I was working at the Honda -Yamaha dealership when the WR500 came out.

I actually got to go ride the Wetjets, Seadoos and Tigersharks on the Coosa in Wetumpka , each time the Kawasaki dealership I worked at was too chicken shonet to take a risk . They sold Polaris and Kawasaki and got left in the dust and sold barely any watercraft compared to the Yamaha and Seadoo dealerships at the time.

When Seadoos literally took over the market they had no one to blame but their selves.

I have worked on Aquajets , Wetjets , Sea breezee's , SOS tideriders , Thunderjets , Polaris , Yamaha's , Honda Aquatrax's , Kawasaki's, Seadoos , Jet N Cats , Jet N Sprays , wetbikes , Boston Whalers , Seadoo and Yamaha jet boats over the years .

I actually have a Seabreeze Hurricane that I saved , it has a Brut engine and jet pump, I never could get the pump to work properly , one day I will probably do an engine swap to a Tigershark engine and pump , just so it's ridable, reliable and a really cool conversation piece , I also own a Wetjet 432 that runs .

That wetjet looks rad. Just looked it up. Looks like someone wanted a cat boat and decided to downsize alot. Tried to look for seabreeze hurricane and couldn't find anything on the internet. Please show and tell.

A couple of guys here have done excellent retorations on Wetjets , matbe one of them will chime in ,ATM mine is still very rough , I am saving a few of these as retirement projects.

To me the Wetjet always looked like a snowmobile and it had a snowmow engine in it , the CDI box says snowstuff right on it.

Call the 1800 dmv number with the vin and ask how much is owed on back registration. If they say it is not in the system; buy it and fill out a lost title for it. Say it is yours and it wasn't running so you didn't register it for the last x amount of years. Easy peasy. If it is in the system then you are SOL unless you know who's name it is in so you can get a bill of sale.
