Updates!

Got some rivets & push pins NOS so I can assemble the rear bumpers.

Got some stickers!

Got a 650LX! motors absolutely junk, but hey got the bed plates, midshaft and exhaust in case I can't find a pipe. Electronics seem good so that's helpful. Is 6M6 electornics compatible with 61x?
Hope the hull disappears soon, needed the trailer to sell a GSI so stoked on that.

That looks a hell of a lot nicer than the wavejammer I picked up over the winter! I haven't even thought about what to do with it yet.....

6m6 electronics will work on a 61x but the rev limit is really a bit too low for a 701, you could do the rev limiter mod to the CDI and make it work .

It will probably work but the 61x CDI and 62T CDI are different , A 61X CDI will definatly work with a 6M6 (650) stator
my understanding is you can slap a 62t cdi in whatever so long as you jump one of the wires that have a gender mismatch, you only need to be careful with keeping stator matched with flywheel
I got options though.. and a zeel laying around if I wanna be stupid LOL

As I said before a 650 is about the outer limit of what the stock pump can handle , you can put all of the HP in front of that pump that you want but it will never make it to the water.

650 engines are a dime a dozen , actually will work with that pump as long as you don't get stupid and they are damn near bulletproof ( they don't make enough power to blow themselves up ) ,

certainly will never get good bottom end out of it.. I'm pretty confident I can make it sing on the top end though.
Fx1 stock pump & 440/650 with a 550 pump are two of my favorites at the moment how bad can the 133 be.
And yeah I agree on wanting to stick with the 650 though. I'm however facing that issue where there's suddenly 61x's everywhere for nothing, and zero 6m6 to be found.

I mentioned 6M6 to @Jr. I think he wanted to execute me on the spot :p

I don't know if you have ever ridden one of these but it's not something you want to go that fast on, even with my meager 650 in mine , bone stock with a Protec pipe and a Skat stainless impeller it will get sideways with you and it will powerslide as long as you hold the throttle open.

The issue is if it ever hooks up it will spit you off instantly , the more power and pump you have the worse that particular issue is going to get , but hey I get it I did mine, you do you , I am not any kind of WJ expert by any means.

we bought 4 of these things between buddies, all 500 so I've ridden them off and on the past few weeks... and yeah you hit the nail on the head initially gutless stock but the fun is definitely in there.
Really just need a good 650, and a manifold or adapter. I've given up on the protec can't find one so my current plan is to just run a 650sx WC pipe I have laying around, found some good images of it fitting well enough with a 180 back to the stock waterbox. But yeah stock 650, pipe, and rip it!

The difference between a 500 and a 650 in there is amazing , it's like a wild animal with some decent power.

I think I have a couple of spare 650 engines here , of course they would need to be taken apart and inspected and they have 30 year old crankshaft seals in them..

Rutland racing is the guy making the adaptors , https://www.rutland-racing.com/products/yama-to-kawa-exhaust-adapter

Found a 650 an hour away for $200
Cyls need a bore, but came with OEM .50 pistons, and tons of gaskets.

Stripped it down, crank is naturally smooth being a Yamaha. Decided I was gonna try porting it cause why not. Did some basic research, decided I wanted to land at 60% width of bore. So ~46mm.

Does anyone do cut heads anymore?
Would love to bump this thing up a tad.

Kinda started, ordered more Dremel bits I was fresh out beyond my carbide bits. Another one of those trust the process moments.... Worst case another roached cyl is 12$ on eBay haha

I know Chris Newmiller still does them , not sure who else still does , Paul @ LPW maybe , he is close to you and he can defiantly bore your cylinders for you .
