I figured I’d dump all my tuning specs on here incase someone in the future was doing some googling and could find it useful or perhaps if
@fastgtfairlane finally decides to get Circus and get rid of that badass…
I have found that, surprisingly, both the 780 and the 964 ran excellent on almost identical jetting minus a pound or two of pop off.
Previously, at 780cc’s of fury, I was turning a 6/12 big hub skat cut back 3mm in a 14 vein 155 skat mag.
Full spec 50’s jetted at 132.5l, 120m, 26psi pop off, 90 return Jet with prok arrestors sitting on the newer gen dasa intake with v force two stage carbon reeds.
Total loss ignition with timing set at 30* static.
Rrp carbon lay down with pfp water box, 110 jet at the manifold. 180 psi run on c9 (96 octane) vp.
A damn near perfectly dialed in setup @ these specs at 800’ elevation.
Changing to the 964 I’ve ONLY changed the pop off up 1 pound and the prop has been pitched to a 7/15. I feel as if I should have gone to a 8/15, feels like it’s right on the edge, but again runs reallll nice.
I couldn’t help myself after about the first 30 minutes of break in I put her to the grip and lo and behold it idle flips, really had me grinning like a fat kid with a candy bar.
The 964 pulls like a freight train from mid to top. Totally stoked with this setup and really happy with staying stock stroke.
Jordan was a really huge help throughout the entire process of dealing with this engine build and I’d highly recommend him for anyone looking to get into a 964 or any of his other engines.
If it doesn’t explode this upcoming week I’ll post up some footage.
