Should I use limited chamber instead of mod?

Title says it all. When I bought my b pipe I chose the mod chamber instead of limited because that is what I thought would be best but now I am second guessing myself. Would I be happier with a limited? Does it really have much more bottom end than a mod. If so why is it that so many love the mod.

thanks

From what I understand the mod shines in super stock basically. Or high HP fee ride motors.

It's only a 1 inch shorter chamber. I just don't see how it could be that big of a deal under most circumstances.

Why didn't they just call it limited and SS?

Actually, its 1.5" shorter.
what do you mean.....i thought the limited was the pain since is was a tighter fit.
jetskier79 is thinking about the Blaster "mod" chamber. Yes, the SJ mod chamber is easier to install then the limited chamber.

I ran the limited chamber in my 61X/61X SN and now run the mod in my 61x/62T RN. IMO: Anytime you run 62T cases, I would suggest the shorter mod chamber since it will be a better overall hit. The limited will begin to taper off at peak rpm.

Doh....you are right. I've been in blaster mode for a couple months now...and on top of that, I think everone I've talked to that talks about a mod chamber is normally talking about the blaster mod anyhow.

Carry on.:cool2:

The chamber selection should be made by your engine builder/tuner and is mostly based on porting/timing/target RPM's/pump set-up.
Most of my freestyle set-ups I prefer the limited chamber and my TSR mods to the Factory Pipe 'B' system. I set-up my engines to target RPM's at 7000, Mod chambers are for when you up that target RPM, up to like 7200-7300 RPM's. So porting/mapping set-up is a big deal on what chamber is correct to run!

What are the TSR Mods?

If I had to guess, I would say it would have to do with the stinger diameter.

Just making the stinger 3/16th (dia) smaller can drastically change the powerband (ie. more top end)....but making a stinger smaller comes at great risk and should only be done by pro's. Many years ago I changed a stinger to .25" smaller dia and gained about 1.5/2mph, but pistons melted...took 2 months to kill it though. I tried!

The great debate. I have run both this past season and seem to like the mod chamber a little better. There was by no means a huge difference in the 2, but the feel was slightly better to me w/ the mod chamber. I run an 86mm Dominator flattop motor @ 210 comp. that hits 7200 rpms w/ a mag pump. I have a Blaster mod chamber as well and have tried it on my ported otherwise limmitted set up vrs. the SJ mod chamber and saw gaines at bottom slightly, but seemed to run out before the mod would. No huge difference here either.
My choice would be the SJ mod chamber on both my setups not so much due to power only, but due to power / ease of maintinence too.
I have been runnin a 2.5 n/s in my stingers w/ no problems.
Just my opinion, I am by no means a roll model or professional though.

Just push it into the waterline just above the stinger, fits great. You actually just use the seat, not the needle.

And I've been wondering what to set the pop-off to on this mod also? LOL! Thanks for the clarification, I thought you lost it...
