Well I stumbled across a stock 1990 650 SN superjet on craigslist about 30 min from my hometown for $350. Couldnt pass it up. It is a bit of an eyesore currently but all that will change over time.

Could anyone link me to the thread that about finding out what number off of the prouduction line your SJ was. Being as this is a 1990 I am kind of curious.

yes, I did try the search function

Post up the VIN number (not the letters too). Im pretty sure the 4 digit number before the last two numbers (state the year, in this case should say '90') is the production line number.

hmm, did they make 2,000 of these things in 1990?? that sounds steep.

I know I remember seeing a thread on here about it somewhere... anyway. Mechanically it seems to be in great shape. It is COMPLETELY stock except for a K&N FA and a Ride plate.... so Ive got a lot of work to do...

As for an eyesore, the paint just looks like hell but I figure a WCF top deck will fix that next winter.

I plan on just riding it like I stole it over the summer and then doing an entire buildup next winter.

Was that the one in Nazareth? I emailed them but I couldn't get out there in time to take a look at it. I ended up getting a really clean 650sx instead, same year.

If that's the same one, the guy said it "needs work." Aside from a paint job, it doesn't seem like it needs much.

Yes, was out of Nazareth. He has had it sitting in his heated garage for the last year or two I guess. I think he needed the space for his bimer:rolleyes:

The handpole is cracked around the bracket but not too bad. It will not take too much to fix that, and the battery needs to be charged. Other than those things and the paint its cherry.

I hate you.

When I found that ad, it been up for about 3 weeks. I emailed and was amazed it was still available. But I just didn't have any time to get there (about a 2hr drive each way). Good luck with it.
