Anyone running dual 38 on a 61x motor with ProTec mani? Care to share jetting setup? trying to help out a customer with setup.

Well spoke too soon. Anyone have any advice/ideas as to why the front cylinder won't fatten up?

Blaster with 61x dual 38's each has their own fuel pump and direct line to fuel tank. I'm thinking there is an air leak some place causing the front cylinder to go lean.

I have replaced about every gasket ( base, new head ada girdled, intake gaskets) I also rebuilt the carbs. The high speed on the front seems like it's not working. The back looks good plug is brown. I can run the high on the front carb all the way out with no change. Ski rips low and half throttle but once i go full it runs hard for about 1 min then dies. Like it ran out of fuel, starts back up without issue. Replaced all fuel filters, new lines.

Highs 145
Lows 72.5
Pop off 32

Factory pipe, msd enhancer, blowsion filters with outerwears .

Two things to check

1. Do you have a primer? Is it only going to problem carb? Is it hooked up in reverse? This will cause it to suck air into your fuel line leaning out that cylinder...don't ask me how i know this...

2. Is your gas tank breather tube breathing? My buddies got pinched between gas tank and the hull and caused the lean/shutdown issue you are experiencing, would run ok mid and low, but once he opened it up it would create a vacuum in the tank and carb wasn't able to pull anymore fuel. Once it died and he stopped the tank would equalize and he would be off to the races again for a short time.

Primer line is t'd to both carbs but plugged/capped with a screw in the line being closest to front carb. I'll see about moving that around or just complete the lines so it works.

Fuel lines are hooked up to ins and both returns are t'd to single return to tank. Doubled check those to make sure.

The tank vent I believe it's ok. I can blow through one way and it's installed with arrow pointing to fuel tank.

You may have some gunk in high speed circuits. Spray some carb cleaner thru the high speed adjuster hole.

The return restrictor on stock dual 38s is built into the back plate on the slave carb. When you removed it and installed a fuel pump on the slave carb, did you install a restrictor in the return line to help regulate fuel pressure?

No restricter in the return line. Should I stuff a 120 jet in the return line or how do you judge the size to use? Both returns from the carbs are T'd to a single line them attached to top of tank.

These are the ones we use. Most use a 60 for larger duals, but not sure what size to use for dual 38 with double pumps.

Changed out the leaky tygon fuel lines with some good stuff from jetmaniac along with the black Y from above and a 60 jet seemed to do the trick! Little blaster runs good now. Thanks for all the help. I need to pick up some carbon tech reeds before it eats the metal stockers.

Happy ending!
