A bunch of noob questions

Thought I'd start a thread for all the inevitable questions I'll have. Starting with that is this? I tried looking at a parts fiche but couldn't find it anywhere. I found it laying in the bottom of the engine bay. I assume it's part of a mount but don't know what for?

The top one looks like one of the rubber pads in the bottom of a battery tray. The other could be one of the pads under the tank or water box. Who knows.. Ive shoved anything and everything under a waterbox and gas tank for a little buffer against the hull.

When I found them they were right at the back near the driveshaft, I was just hoping they weren't something to do with how that passes through the hull. I was in the middle of nowhere for a week with no Internet or anything so I decided to ride anyways and I didn't notice any difference. I'm away at work but when I get home in a few days I'll try and take a better look at the battery and waterbox.

Forgot to mention the gas tank has the massive foam around it so I don't think it would be from there.

Another random question I have is how long does it normally take to get flow out of the pisser upon startup? Mine seems to take quite a while sometimes, and sometimes smokes a little after I shut the ski down. Is that just because the water lines are connected to the exhaust?

yes. My superjet with dual cooling flows immediately. My stock B1 takes about 30 seconds. If you have a stock exhaust, they dump loads of water into the exhaust path which takes longer for it to come out the pisser. You should always let a ski warm up before you stomp on it anyway. I idle about 1 minute, half throttle about 1 minute, just hit full throttle for a moment for about a minute. This lets the block and pistons warm up, the cooling lines clear out and any air in the fuel lines work through. After sitting on the shore, I only do the 3rd minute before jumping back in. The motor should be pretty warm and the fuel lines still well primed.

Ya I always warm it up by just cruising around first. I think I just didn't notice how long the pisser took to get flow the first few times I rode cause I was just focused on balancing. So then when I did notice I wasn't sure if it had always been that way or if something had changed.
