I do have a question that I have yet to see answered. I see quite a few people take an extended plate and D-cut it, this is what I did. The D-cut is supposed to make the nose come up easier/faster but on the D-cut extended plate the apex of the arc comes right to about where the edge of the stock one would be so how does this effect handling?

that works really well at puncturing shins. cut it even with the back of the ski and then d cut it.

I did see the thread with your grenade like rideplate...kinda scared me! It seems that LOTS of people are running it like this though.

Thats what I have (extended Protec with D-cut) but have yet to try it. Got it for like $20 on ebay, figured it was a cheap way to trial and error plus its an awesome day glow green!

I made it so my cut would only go back to the horizontal rib, that way I would keep as much strength as possible.

i could tell a tremendous difference in the surf

Better? I could not tell over short plate but could tell over long plate.
I am somewhat worried about not having the protection over the pump nossel in surf as I have bent and broke long plates in surf. Nothing there but nosel w/ "d" cut plate.

Bandsaw-pretty easy, Plasma cutter-really easy, hacksaw-hard, sawzall-probably pretty tough, lightsaber-pretty hard (unless you have the force)
