EDIT: Nothing is set in stone yet, date or location, hopefully by early February we'll have solid info. Please do not anticipate things and make reservations as that could hurt our chances on a location if there are a lot of reservations already.

The location has been chosen.............
If you liked the old bald Ridge site, you will simply love the "Duckett Mill " campground ! Ronny & I scouted the site this morning. WoW, is all we can both say!! Tonight everyone got togeather & decided this is the place & time to move foward............

over the early part of next week, I will be in touch with Mike Young of Surf & turf promotions, to figure out & solve, the last hurdle, the conflicting dates between the Orange beach race & "The Ride".

Get ready folks, If you loved Daytona............... You will be in ecstasy with "the Ride" ................. Stay tuned!!!!!!!!!..........

The campground looks great! Just hope they let us do it the way we want.
There is a huge white sand beach that is meant for swimming that we want to make the main riding/hangout area. If we can own that campground for the weekend we might be able to pull it off.

Launching from most campsites will be tough, however there is a boat ramp right at the entrance of the campground but not inside the campground. This is great because people who aren't camping can still launch and be right there with everyone! There are lots of little coves for glassy flat water and a main channel right there for the big cruiser wakes. This place is as close to perfect as I can imagine.

Is it still 20 bucks a night? How many nights in advance should I book?

If I get a campsite, will I have a problem launching w/o a beachcart?

I cant wait! Plan is Ill be bringing 4-6 friends w/ me and my ski.

Cool. Can someone scout out a hotel? That looks a bit far from sun suites..

#45 on the map

Duckett mill is on the north side of the lake. It is much closer to Gainesville, than Cumming. The next time I go over there I'll scout out a hotel, for those who don't want to camp.

This is definately one of the nicest campgrounds on Lake lanier. For those who have never camped, you might want to try it for this one.

I'll Take Ronny & his Camera on one of the next visits to the site. He will take some pic , so you have a better Idea on just how great this site is!!!

I don't know how to link it but if you pull up the google map you can clearly see a nice cruiser wake running right up the east side of the peninsula.. :woot:
