Superjet not starting after riding

My ski starts up fine from the ramp and will run all day iffff I never shut it off. Runs like normal rips but as soon as I fall and the lanyard comes out or I rest to take a little breather it doesn't want to start back up. It will crank over just fine but won't fire up. If I wait 10-20 minutes then it will start up just fine again. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I was thinking maybe the carb/s are flooding out? But wouldn't that effect how it runs?

doesnt sound electrical to me.....more fuel related

does your fuel tank stay pressurized. ...release the fuel cap slightly to hear if air rushes out....if not fix fix the one way valve or find the air leak.....next issue could be leaking needle/seat.....do a pop off test to check this....next check the small debris strainers in each carb.....they could have dirt in them ....also the inline fuel filter for blockage.....under high rpms'the fuel pump can push the fuel through, but at cranking speed it wont flow enough fuel to start

Are you pulling the landyard off when you take a break? I've had multiple start/stop landyard switches go bad where they don't fully change position and end up half way where both circuit are closed. Like cranking the ski with the kill button held down.

It would help us if we knew whether or not you were getting spark. I've also had a fuel check valve go bad, but that caused the ski to shut off once a large enough vacuum was built up. Symptom of waiting to restart it sounds like fuel tank pressure issue, but the landyard being pulled and then it not restarting would lead me to look electrical. One thing you can do the next time you have this issue, disconnect the black/white wire connector from the start stop switch and see if it starts. You can also check the tank check valve real fast. Blow into both sides. If you can't get air to pass on one side or if it passes on both, replace it.

Thanks for the info I'll look into it after work. I hope it's something easy and simple. It does this even if the lanyard isn't pulled out, I can hit the stop switch to take a break and it will still have this issue. It's a stock cdi, and I rebuilt the carbs a couple years ago.

pull the air filter and crank it up.
look down the throat and if the carb is dripping, you need a new spring

I had this exact same issue with my 98 superjet. it would run perfect and start right up when I would first start it. But if I was to ride it for more then 10 mins and shut it off, it would crank over but not fire. I would wait 20 mins and then it would usually fire up again. It was weird, I checked for spark before I went out and did not see spark but it would still fire. I even checked it in a dark garage. I also first though it was a fuel problem and checked everything and put a new one way valve on, still did the same thing. I even went to the point of putting a new stator in, no change. Then I put a different starter and ingetion coil with new plug boots, no change.

Eventually I got fed up and just bought a good condition complete ebox and put that in the ski and it ran perfect and did not have the issue anymore. So the problem was one of the electrical parts I did not replace before switching eboxes. If you can get a clean complete ebox for under $200, I might recommend that. And later on if you have time, test out the electrical parts one by one, to see which one is causing the issue. If I had to guess I would say it was the CDI. Just never had the time or the desire to go back and check the electrical parts like I suggested.

Hey I'm having the same exact issue with my 2006 superjet, what did you do to fix it. I just had to swim into shore cuz I fell off. Waited 10 minutes at shore and fired right up, but when I brought it back to shore and stopped it it wouldn't fire up again. So I had to wait 15 minutes again and it fired up. Makes it hard to go full potential cause I dont want it to die.
