Super Jet Handle pole stands straight up!

Bought an 05 superjet a couple weeks ago. The previous owner had taken the pole spring off for his preference. I rode it and was very fatigued by the heavy pole.

He had included the spring for me. I just installed it, and now the pole stands straight up! did I do something wrong?

That looks like a blowsion spring. Do as freakrider said and also ratchet strap it down over night and it should lose some of its tension. When I installed one I had to heat it up to it was red hot and open it up a bit

Thanks all. I'll try and crank it down some more.

Also....anyone know what kind/size screws hold on the nose piece? Mine were knocked off in front of the gas tank/water box area. Lost forever unless I yank everything out.

Agreed, even on my predator with a blowsion pole fully extended the blowsion spring makes the pole super stiff. If you keep the pole tied down when your storing and transporting it will weaken a little and start to lay down on it's own

If it's a stock nose piece then it's the same screws that are in the back of the ebox just cut in half. I don't know the actual size but they are very coarse thread and you also need like a coupler that goes around the screw (I have no idea what they're called).
