Kart tank mod

Picked up a new Kart gas tank and modified a mounting bracket to hold teh remote fuel pump. Total was about $50 for the tank and bracket. 9 litre tank. I need to order a cap so I can install my breather valve but I think it turned out perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. :Banane01: :Banane01:

I mounted my pump at a slight angle so there was less of a bend to the supply tube. I am going to look for some 90 degree fitting for the caps on teh tank. That should route everything very tight and clean :cheer: I just used zip ties for now.........need to make a run to the hardware store for come nice allen head bolts.

Here is a side shot. I also piced up some NICE looking fuel hoes at Lowe's. Very glossey and thick line that should hold up better that the hose I have used in the past...........we will see. .80 per foot

im surprised more flatwater guys havent done this mod....easy weight savings....

no good for the surf as the runs to get to the waves are many times too long.....but I'd totaly do it if I was a lake/river rider...

Considering a carbon fuel pump bracket is $50 from Blowsion this is a nice way to save weight by not carrying as much fuel and get a nifty fuel pump bracket in the process. 2-in-1 deal :arms: I can also carry the fuel closer to the center of the boat so that hels balance the ski a little. Cleans up the engine bay allot and you can pull the tank in about 30 seconds (1 strap and 2 lines) so that helps as well. I only ride for 20-30 minute bursts in flatwater so this this perfect for what I do.

I know this sounds silly, but DON'T FILL UP THE TANK ALL THE WAY.

BINGO, WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!!!!!!!

Three gallons of fuel will weigh the same no matter what you put it in.

This has got to be the most ridiculous mod ever in the history of jetskiing... You go spend how much on a tank and a bracket for what???

You people kill me w/ your wacky ideas!!!!!!!

true the gas will weigh the same......but you wont have nearly as much sloshing around which should make for better positive fuel flow...

and the most rediculous mod ever is the freestyle sponge. :sneaky:

look's good river rat,i won't bash on it!kart tanks are cheap, clean and you save all that room in your boat.

room for??? you keep your lunch in there when you are riding???

and it's not cheaper than the stock one that was FREE w/ the boat

thats true, but some people actually LIKE messing around and trying things with their boats.....

Im more of a wrench to ride kinda guy (and i know you are too..)....

so, are you saying that with a 5 gallon tank vs. a 3 gallon tank...once youre down to 1 gallon....with repeated inverts/stabs/rolls whatever....that the fuel will travel up the pickup just as easy with a 5 vs. the 3?
