So i need to remove the flywheel. Im using the 3 bolt puller from Harbor frieght. Im assuming the threads are metric. Does anyome know the thread size and pitch. My ap and die set just isnt giving me the right answers. Seems like the standard is going but dont wanna goof up..

learned a trick today. its the same thread as the head bolts metric, not standard as the kit comes with. However mines on there tighter than a frogs but so im sending it off to be taken off properly. Thanks for the info

Common problem is the puller binds on the end of crank...you must use a good washer between puller and crank, then it will come off easy...try that ok ?

That is normal. Get it nice and tight and then hit it with a hammer a few times. Tighten a little more and repeat. A little bit of heat will loosen her right up too.

Hit it with a 1/2" impact gun. I've taken off at least 100 Yamaha flywheels and never had one that wouldn't come off with an impact, hand sledge, and a bit of propane torch work :)
