I am stubborn and usually learn by mistake or by my frustration levels increasing, resulting in more change. I don't have the luxury of my ride spot close by, it's about 1.5 hr away, or the river which is 20 mins but full of cops and nonsense. Now with an infant and a 2 year old I do not get to ride nearly as much as I used to, it's even harder to tune for hours and travel to and from ride spots, I don't really let others wrench on my boats but there are a few exceptions, I am a mechanic by trade and always thought to do something right I must do it myself...especially with my skis, not to get personal on a 61x thread, But my decision to send my carbs to art was the single most stress relieving decision I made, i was ready to give up and just ride my my blaster for good. when I popped them on and ripped on the throttle it was all smiles, so linear and smooth yet still pulling and hitting on the pipe, it's like he took my whole engine and gave it back, no light switch effect and no cavitation which I had down low slightly before , maybe not a miracle to some, but for my dollar and situation as far as time management it was a no brainer. Granted to those interested... Give Art some time and he will make it right, I sent them late October and got them back in January, some like to bash and trash some folks when they don't get their property or parts back in 3-5 days cause they eagerly want to ride and time is limited. Good luck guys!
-This all being said, their are alot of excellent tuners and builders here, do not be discouraged to call all them either,be upfront and honest with you setup and future intentions.. I chose Art and have done more business with him since and enjoy his up front honesty and insight, but grab a chair if you call him. Take a leak, he'll talk your ear off, if you speak to him, ask about the Jetworks mono reeds, they are pretty sweet for the 701s he'll dial you guys in!
