Aftermarket hood...What does yours weigh?

Trying to decide WD or WCF. I here that the WCF hood is indestructable, but it damn sure better be at 13lbs. <-Thats what I was told it weighed. Is that right?

What does the WD hood weight?

How do the fit and finish compare to one another?

Thanks in advance.

the conversion hood (FG) weighs less than a stock hood and stock pole.....

but we never weighed it either.....

i dont think you could really go wrong with either choice.....

Tim...you can convert that ski to a pole ski in like 15 minutes......the most time consuming part is to run the s/s switch thru the pole.......

i have only seen the WD hood but i have to say i was very impressed. i havent known jeff too long but he can make some nice poop. hood fit very nicely, solid finish, followed body lines, perfectly symmetrical, and fit well with the nosepiece. as far as weight i just personally talked to jeff and he said anywhere from 12-14lbs but he can make them as light as 9lbs:haha::cool2:

I really don't know. I should check huh?

how hard is it to pull the long pole bolt?

Not hard.

No biggie though. I was just curious. It seems like the conversion hood would only be slightly heavier than a standard standup hood. I'm curious about the weight of the steering assy vs. the pole/turnplate on a standard standup. Does the conversion require the stock pole bracket?

Would you weigh yourself a couple times (take the average if it varies a pound or so). Then hold the hood and weigh again a couple of times. Subtract your weight out.

It may be a myth, but I have heard that people scales are more accurate in the range of 100+ pounds than in the 10 pound range.

I know my Wammer hood isnt that light, I would say 12-13# wouldnt you saki? I will bring it to work Monday and weiigh it. Weighed a stock hood w/o fire ext / ext holder and w/o down tubes it was 15#. So not much savings but it is some.

What are the cost differences? If it is a tough choice on quality and weight then maybe you have an easy out? I know what the WD cost, what does the WCF cost?
