Looking for someone in michigan with fiberglass/carbon fiber repair skills

I hate to say this because I hated to hear it but ...learn to do it yourself and save huge money and long wait times. It's not that hard and you will know it is done right and then you will know how to do it forever.

If not I think you have a lot of good people up there that can help you. CG, Waterdawg and others. But they are all probably all super busy and I really think you can do it.

i would like to do the repairs myself and save money but i dont have a clue about how to do it. waht materials do you recommend for repairs and reinforcing

Go to uscomposites.com and look at the stuff on there. To do a repair and reinforce job on an SJ I would look at teh 8.9oz satin weave s2 glass they have and get the 1 gallon resin kit with the medium hardener. Then look at the tech sections on here and follow the resin directions. It shouldn't be too hard or take all that long to do. You can PM me with questions.

Good Luck!!

Yea what he said and people will direct you toward pics if you need help. Its like working with peanut butter as far as the resin goes. The grinding and laying the cloth and grinding again and then painting is the biggest part but its not that bad.

I also recommend learning to do it yourself. But at the same time.....it's pretty damn intimidating if you've never done it without someone to help you along. I can understand that.

I just did a little glass work for the first time. No problem. If you just do a little research before you start you will be fine! Don't forget, if you are laying glass on smc make sure you get epoxy resin!

Good luck
