Super Jet Question about Hydro Turf hood seal

I know, I should of got the oem...
Probably still will.



Question, should I cut it down? Because it sticks up about an inch and the hood won't close.


I think it's kind of dumb if I have to cut, because it'll never look machine nice.

Never used hydro turf but i tried aftermarket seals and all leaked or didnt sit right. Eventually forked over $ for oem and I hardly have any water go in having no bilge pumps and doing subs, fountains, etc

Do they expect the hood to close with that? lol I just cut turf and glue it down and it seals fine. Looks like you'll definitely have to cut that I'd try to return it first though.

I'll try and cut it down. It was like $16 dollars, and I'd probably have to pay shipping back which would be about $5

idk, I probably trim it down with a few sharp exacto blades

Hopefully it won't look like Jaws chewed on it.

Best way to trim it is to use a metal straight edge such as a carpenters square for a guide and a razor blade. Put the glue the side you cut.
