Powder Coating a B-Pipe

Just wondering what it costs to powdercoat a b-pipe. I don't plan on doing it unless it's relatively cheap. Anyone know approximate costs and where to send it to to have that done?

Also how do you go about polishing the pipe?

Thanks:biggthumpup:

Check with Steve at Watercraft Factory---he has a guy that does polishing for him and it looks great. :Banane01:

you can have it jet-hot coated for 75 bucks (expansion chamber). Way better and looks like chrome

That sounds like a pretty good deal.

I guess I was just hoping it would cost like 30-40 to do the chamber then I would have done it. If it's going to cost more than that I'll probably just wait. Money can be spent better elsewhere:biggrin: .

Very cool. $140 is definitely a little more than I wanted to spend, but for someone that needs to powdercoat multiple things then thats a pretty good deal.

Have you ever used this system?

I have not personally but I do know Katie has seen these home systems used on wheels. PM her and she can give you her 2 cents.

If it costs 75 for the jet coating then 140 is not bad and you can do your buds and yours and you have the equipment forever. :cheer: :cheer:

I do powder coating, and could do a chamber for about $45 for most colors.

True, a shiny pipe won’t help with back flips. Chrome won't get you home!

well, jet-hot has some nice charcteristics to it like protecting the metal from corrossion and acids that form in the exhuast. It also insuates the pipe and cuts down on radiant heat. Jet hot blasts the pipe inside and out and the smooth coating will achually help flow exhaust gases better.

Damn!!! and I thought I just needed to buy a special BF pipe to go with my freestyle sponge.

I like the jet hot though.. I think I might go with that myself...

You found one already?

Nah I just ordered a new one from FP. I couldn't wait any longer and I wasn't going to spend 500 on a used beat up pipe.

It figures though that the day after I order a new one a used one goes up on ebay for 325. I'm still happy for yamasaki though. That's a steal and in my opinion what used bpipes should go for.

I agree I definitely don't need to powdercoat it, but I figured if it was cheap and easy why not.

The pipe I have has the original paint along with spray paint over it. Can I bring it to a powdercoating place and have them sandblast it then powder coat it? I read somewhere that if you sand a cast pipe down they can overheat...any info?
