Is a Watercraft factory top deck legal in Am Freestyle

really? i heard that someone protested the WCF hulls/topdecks at world finals.

I heard that the #2 AM was stopped from moving up to compete in Pro by 1 professional that didn't want the extra competition. The IJSBA left it up to the Pros competing, and one of the Pros pulled out the rule book.

I also heard that that same pro, almost got a AM skier DQ'd by talkin chit during Tech.

:dunno:

Im starting on building my boat for next year.I was wondering If i get a Watercraft Factory top deck will it pass tech In amature Freestyle. Also where can I find the rules. Thanks

bunch of whining babies... who cares... I competed this year and my hull is heavier than Rattis and Jesses skis... I have a surf set up and still hung in there on the flat...

Stuff like this is exactly why I am not competing next year !

Hey Petey, I dont see anybody whining here.......... not sure what is up with that.......
 :bs2:

You almost can't win with a protest. If someone is riding with an illegal ski, you either have to suck it up and ride with a disadvantage or be the jerk that protests. Personally, I'd only consider a protest if it was close. If the illegal rider was clearly better than me no matter what I was on then I would consider myself a jerk for trying to knock him off. On the other hand, it would be nice if the rules were actually enforced for everyone.

Why doesn't the IJSBA/APBA inforce the rules???
Has anyone ever asked what their official stance on why they don't inforce, and if they do, why is it selective??? It seems to me that if the rules were made for a reason they would be inforced. Another thing... is not inforcing them bad for the sport, or is inforcing them bad???

WTF???

If I were to do competitions I would hate to be bothered with the added pressure of restricting myself to someone elses rules. I personally like to go out, ride my boat and make changes where I think the boat needs to be improved upon. If that means adding power here, saving weight there I will do it. I would rather have a good time riding and wrenching w/o the IJSBA looking over my shoulder. I just think it is funny that someone can run a XFT hull or a carbon hull.........place dead last and no one cares, do good and they are all over you. :haha: If I got dead last and some one on a aftermarket hull beat me I would be pissed:haha:

The rules were inforced at the WF.
But only the top 3 get Teched.
If there was a rider in the top 3 that was illegal they would be DQ'd

2nd Note:
Flatwater Freestyle will continue to grow,
and will allways be an equal part of the sport.
No matter our preference surf or flat, Support it.

And remember the Greatest Freestylers ever are Flatwater Masters!!!

I think it comes down to the promoters.
If we ask them to I'm sure they would look at hulls, and enforce the law.

I think it would benefit the sport to let Ams run aftermarket hulls with 850ccs
It will help the aftermarket companys, which would put more $$ in the sport, and make sponsorship $$ available.

This is a motorsport, and in motorsports it takes $$ to be competetive.
No matter what the rules are.

why don't they just do that????

Petition Am + pro class.......run what you brung.

Am= Ameratures.....If there are any sandbaggers, who cares!? They are only hurting themselves.

Pro= Pro.....

Why does everything have to be so difficult/technicle................run what you brung!

Know one likes the rules the way they are, everyones opinions seems to be ^^^^^^^ So why the hell does no one listen. Seems rediculous to me.

I dont know... I was called a cheater for running my hull, and its the same weight as a superjet... built for surf... So I did not show up at Nationals. I am a coward for not showing, I am a cheater for showing.
And I dont have money to go buy another setup ! This is supposed to
be afun sport... and alot of it just gets to be a hassle... most of this
last season it was just 2 of us in region 8, both on WCF hulls, so nothing
was said... there was a couple other comps...

I said mybad to the whining thing ! It is just frustratiing... your damned if
you do and damned if you dont... Its all good, Maybe next year they will allow more varity of skis ?

I have supported Flatwater, Freerides, shows and whatever else, and apologize for the negativity, its just frustratiing sometimes !
