Stock OEM Yamaha 760/1200 are very heavy slugs...Go with Wiseco pro-lites...my Team Scream motor that I built in 2002 Still runs great! Chick has 3 seasons on it now. With proper set-up Wiseco pistons are way better.
P.S. I did have wristpin failures (too thin) in 2000 when wiseco first came out with the 760 pro-lites...word to the wise, always buy new current Wisecos.

supertune is right. the difference in weight is obvious just by holding one of each type in each hand, as i found out today. i couldnt believe the difference in the two.

That makes since.....I always use to here people reffer to Wiseco as Seizco "in the watercraft world" :banghead: I guess they have done better through the years:headbang: I have also heard that there cranks were not as good as OEM. Is there any truth to that?, or have there been changes to the Hot Rod cranks over time?

weisco and hotrods are 2 separate companies, sounds to me like weisco distributed cranks for them and something bad happened to the arrangement they had

as for better than or worse than oem?????
from what i gather is is the next best thing to oem but not quite as solid
