Who owns this company and are they on this board? Seems like they have some pretty sweet ideas and products. Nice site too, I like how they explain their product versus a picture and price like most places. Any good/bad stories out there.

I bought a hood seal from him for my blaster and I have yet to install it. I'll let you know how it works when I install it. I hear the hoodseal they sell isn't that great for the sj, but works really good for the blaster. Anyone had experience's with either one?

I've had one on my blaster for 3 years. I'll wind up replacing it this winter because it has become impregnated with salt. It still does a great job at keeping water out.

Yeah I think it's works better on the blaster because you don't have to worry about the hood shifting like you do on an sj unless your Jimmy Visser or jetskier79 and your throwing barrell rolls on your B1

$15 sure beats the $120 OEM Seal thats for sure.

John Fleckenstein, he registered here but never activated his account AFAIK.

Here's my general take:
His oem 38 carb mods are questionable, freestylegeek, parrdaddy, kahuna, and others had problems with them which he attributed to them running B pipes which are 'wet pipes'.

A lot of his small parts can be found on mcmaster.com if you look, but he's a good central location to get them and he has the correct sizes/etc already figured out.

Some (most) people have had issues with his SJ hood seals, mine worked as advertised and I'm on my 3rd or 4th season on it. I believe he has changed material since then to something better.

His stator and coil services are excellent.

The hood seal didnt last 6 mos. on my SJ, it was kinda flakin off and my hood kept popping off to side. It may be fine for a Blaster, I do still use the door trim stuff he sends w/ it even w/ my OEM hood seal.

I had him do some carb work for me a couple of years ago and did an outstanding job. I have no complaints. His before and after pics of his stator rebuild is just incredible.

Strongly recommended as well. I have his full stator rebuild/plug wires/battery cable. Top quality!:arms:

I've also got good prices from him on pistons. rings. even a ported cylinder.:cool2:

His carb mods aren't targeted for freestyle.

oh, also the bullet connectors he sells now DO fit the OEM connectors.....

the "clunk" works sweet....but will increase the amount of debris you will find in your fuel filter...

he will also buy your core stators, s/s pods, coils...anyting that he remanufactures....

the last order I put thru from him he was actually driving down the highway when I called, but he pulled over and wrote it all out on a napkin...the order was perfect!

I had my 38’s “taper bored” and completely rebuilt by John, as did a friend of mine. Neither of us have had any problems. I know mine work great. I was surprised how rich I had to go with jetting, but once they were dialed, they’ve been excellent. I also had him put together a linkage and get two 44’s set up to run as duals.

As others have said, his stators are great. I also order o-rings and other odds and ends that he sells. That “ski grease” is great for many applications. Like Darin said, some of it is probably available elsewhere if you know what to order, but John is a good guy and has done all the homework…I just order from him.

I’ve had no experience with his hood seals.
