Ada Billet Cylinder?

I am not in the market, just curius if anyone has had any experience, or knows someone with this setup. Anyone ever heard of any HP #'s out of one of these motors? Will they hang with or out due a Lamey? Just wondering as I have never heard anything on this cyl, other then whats on there website. It seems a 980cc would f-ing rip!

The cylinder that was at Wamilton's booth was the new ADA billet cylinder. I'm curious to see how people say it runs. I was suprised to see how mismatched the ports were and how small the exhaust port looked and how small the transfer volume was. This is all stuff the can be fixed by the engine builder but it would take a lot of work.

that the cyl that pancaker runs....i dont know if its 980cc, but he def has a ada 6mm stroker..

You guys are confusing the new ada cylinder with the old one. Crammit, njfl, and pete have the old cylinder setup with a 6mm stroke. I don't know if anyone on here has built one of the new 989cc yet.

From what I here it will be simular, but better than Paul L. (Magoo) set up (only billet). He could probably tell you exactly what that motor will produce.

Only having rode crammit's old ada and having rode a few lameys I will say that in the hands of the right engine builder it can hit just as hard or harder. Not sure about the new cylinder.

It's basically a scaled up version of the first-generation ADA cylinder that crammit442, myself, and Pete are running. As jetskiking said, in the hands of the right builder it kicks butt. Team Scream is finishing one of the new 989 ones as we speak, but I haven't heard the final outcome.

The one Pete was running is an older +6mm x 82mm. I have had that one for a few years & it is in my opinion the perfect surf motor. Super smooth!

In Havasu, I spent some time with Brook from ADA going over the new Cyl.
I will have one here shortly. I'm going to build it as an +8 x 90mm

All this past season, my personal boat had a Lamey PV +8 x 91mm That I used as a test platform. The boat ran very well & had some impressive numbers, untill it failed in Nashville. Motors built to the ragged edge like this one have short life spans.
I will be intrested to know how the ADA will fair up against the Lamey?
I have some very good base line readings to compare to? My bet is , it will be close.
Time will tell?

The piston speed is less than bigger strokes - meaning you do not need quite as much maintenance on them.
(Also, anything past 5mil requires an aftermarket cylinder = big money)

so, (crank costs aside), would you say a 5 mil stroker on say, a 83mm 61x cylinder (spacer plate?) with some nice porting on it, head, full specs, TL ign, bpipe.... could make a pretty decent, somewhat reliable FR/FS stroker motor?

Although I am going to try TL to see what gains I can get, I hate the idea of open, exposed electronics when riding in a salt environment. Geraban's enclosure case is pretty cool for that though. In general, if you don't have a good enclosure, I would say that OEM-based ignition would make your combo very reliable (Advent/Enhancer CDI). Tehn again, I know that a lot of people complain about those CDIs' reliability as well (again assuming salt environment).
