FX-1 So WHY FX-1??? 67lbs sound light enough???

Prob gonna regret this because value of fx1 is already on the rise and this may make it worse. Have a completely stripped fx1 that im doing a pump conversion, footwells, tubbies, paint, and turf on for crazydave. Figured it would be a good time to weight what we got. hull with out entire tray was 67lbs (see pic) have the complete tray with foothold still in it intact and it weighted 6.2lbs. Thats still only 73lbs!!!!!! Even with 2 part foam (2lbs) and turf this bad boy is only gonna weight 82lbs TOPS when im done!!!!! Wait remind me again how much a $6700 xfs weights??????? I believe 120lbs....??? ha not downing those as they are nice. Just having a little fun rant about how great the fx is. But DONT forget they are UN RIDEABLE and no one should ever buy one! lol

PS: That hackery cut job and attempt at fiberglass was not done by me or crazydave. (that was last owners handy work)

Oh man..... My fx hulls just doubled in value. Wait!!!!

Never mind they are unridable. Who would want that a factory hull under 80lbs

With wet foam still weighs less than some aftermarket hulls.

Dont worry, by the time your done with all that work it will weigh just as much as a OEM SJ hull.

My topdeck conversion superjet hull stripped of the tray and everything etc weighed in at 110. Figure 130 when its all back together.

Mine with all that work weighted 84lbs without turf and mine had alot of unnessasary reinforsement. Just dont have pictures to prove it....

Light skis are for flatwater riders who need to maximize their power to weight ratio. Heavier skis work better in the surf. I can get more height than my ankles can take off a 4' wave on my heavy a$$, re-inforced, limited set up 701 SJ. From your avatar it looks like your a surf rider, so I'm curious, whats your point?

Im 60% surf, 30% creeks, 10% flatwater. But this ski isnt for me so it really doesnt matter. However what CA surf guys dont understand is 4' waves are a GREAT wave day here. All summer we are lucky to get 2' surf. Therefor weight becomes much more of an issue. And the point of the post is just a little fun showing how yamaha had the right idea hull wise in 1994, however they killed its chance at a long life when they decided to put a 122mm pump in a (at the time) freestyle ski.

my topdeck as it sits now now with pump shoe, ride plate, mid shaft, pole bracket, nose piece, holds, carbon reinforced, and turfed came in at 133
