Hypothermia

I decided to ride yesterday... bad idea...
I wore a full wetsuit, gloves, neoprene socks... I was riding around for a while and all the sudden I kept falling, it was extremely frustrating... luckily I was riding with a friend, we beached our skiis and I about fell over when I walked around on shore... I could barely stand up straight (which is funny because i didnt notice it that much when i was on my ski)... I felt like I was looking through a fish-eye lens, i was freaking out!

After that we decided to go in, i took a warm shower... my memory of the whole thing is a bit blurred... anyways, its time to put the ski up for the winter because I had mild hypothermia...

How cold was the water?
I have ridden in ~45-50 degree water in 32 degree weather before. I wore my regular Matrix full wetsuit, and a shorty over it.
It was alright - but we were out for only half hour or so.

I've ridden in 37 degree water and snowing outside with my dry suit on.

They work great... even had a sweatshirt and sweatpants on under my dry suit... very toasty!!

I have a cheap (199.00) Gladiator dry suit that I got from Overtons I think. It is a pain but it is well worth it.

That's why you hook up the hose to your First stage, so you can add air to them.

Let me guess, you did not have a first stage with a dry suit hose hookup?:eek:mfg:

It's often hard to tell when the hypotermia hits.

Oh yeah, I think I need one of those:

I had to drive my ski around to the ramp today unfortunately to take it out as well. Only had trunks in 50 degree water. Was only for a half hour though, but the spray was annoying as hell.

Get the wetsuit first. I've never experienced the tightness in the crotch area in a properly sized wetsuit, it's possible my testicles are not big enough.
