My buddy Cole & his Dad are running Ballistic's in 2 Rickters and no problems, also all there KTM dirt bikes have them... So far so good... I've seen both in person and IMO the Ballistic felt well made & looked like it would hold up better in the marine world... The Shorai felt cheap & that charging jack not sure how water would mix.. I know what saltwater will do...

There just charging them with a Battery Tender style charger

My Vote.... Ballistic

One vote against Shorai... It's not sealed and there are tons of entry points where water can get in. Their equivalent amp/hours are pure garbage too. Some guys had success getting their batteries replaced under warranty. They wouldn't give me the time of day and were slow as sin to respond (when they actually did). So when I cut the battery open to see if there was anything I could do, since they wouldn't, I noticed all the connections inside are not designed for rough use. The connections look more like a cell phone or MP3 player.

I had my Shorai replaced and pro rated under warranty even though it was found to have water intrusion thru the charge port. they replaced it and advised to fill the port with diaelectric grease.
So far so good!

ya it seems like it may be a descent charger. I think for the longest life out of the battery the charger might be the key. I know you can charge these with a low amp charger

I exclusively used the Shorai charger with mine. Mine didn't really leak through the charging port that I could tell because all of those connections were clean. The main power terminals is where all of my water intrusion came form.

I dont like ordering batteries online...rather to go batts plus and find something good there.....plus the battery geeks will usually give a discount if you ask and the warranty replacement is easy as can be..never had a problem there
