I want the biggest reason why you don't compete in freestyle.... seriously, why???? one reason and no blabing on about crap... just state the one main reason why you don't do it... I really don't mean this as a negative thing at all, I'm just trying to understand something...

my main reason
I don't have money to travel, or buy high dollar parts...

Lack of skills for me. This is/was my first real serious season. I have been riding for a little over 3 years, but have been stepping it up this season. Didn't get any footwells in my SJ this season but my project SJ hull is getting some rickters installed this winter. Next season... barrel rolls here I come.

You didn't list my reason.
I see no reason to compete. I thoroughly enjoy riding, freestyling - I don't want to make it into a formal competition.

I was really competitive in MX. and id like to be good at freestyle on the skis, but when i raced i had lots of help from local shops. on the water, i just dont have 10k lying around to dump into my ski. i really feel like im taking to skiing quickly, but im definately hindered by the money it takes to build a good flatwater ski. ive never been in the surf but u bet ur a$$e$ im comin to daytona to learn the ropes. i guess that will help me see what my potential is.

Before I started competeing.....it was lack of skills

I think alot of people base their opinions upon the #1 and #2 riders and are afriad. They need to get out there and just do it. Not everyone is equal on the playing field.

PLUS! - getting out there will make you learn faster then you ever thought

Lack of skills at this point, but the real kicker is my location. Not a whole lot going on up here in WA. Time is a huge factor too. At best, I only get out on the water for a couple days a week during the height of summer. I'm usually the only standup guy around when I do hit the lakes. Living in the Northwest just isn't ideal for the sport.

I voted lack of skills. As much as I love racing I'd like to try freestyle one day, just to get in their shoes and see what its like for once. I also raced amateur runabout 800 ltd this year for the same reason, just to see what its like. Im no good at freestyle, but hope to get better!

BTW I smoked everyone in runabout on a stock xp800 and they all had ltd's. they told em i was a no good ski rider, jokingly lol.:D

I think everyone should try as much as they can, just to see what its like and have respect for others as well

Old, but still ridin'!!!
I said time. I really don't have the time to practice 3-5 times a week any more.

My second biggest reason would be fun. It got to where competing wasn't fun anymore. Hence the reason I absolutely love going to the freerides when I can.
