How's this for a nights work?

Idok, does the crank spin freely with it installed? I'm really curious how the hell this could happen.

Screw dramatic, I would be flat out pissed, will SBT reimberse for the time and hastle. Thats just putting out garbage w/o worning.

I've built motors for half my life. Pro dirt bike motors, quads,jet ski's,street bikes, ect.I'm a good machinest and know micro measurment the old school way. I have vernier mic's that I can read accuratley to .0001". I gave sbt the measurments on the crank and they ignored them.(maybe they don't know how to measure something????????????).Waiting to hear from IDOK about this situation!! as of now I havent had the time to call yet.....probably wont happen until tomorrow am as m off work.......

as of right now I havec:

1. a crank that doesnt fit
2. a set of cases that have been unneccesarily modded per SBT's 'recommendations'--not happy about that one
3. taken a hit on a gasket kit as this crank has already blown out one set of seals..luckily everything else survived

as of now I have simply dismissed these parts from my inventory.....if anything it will be a lesson to all/reinforcement to others...

i would demand a good set of core cases back from them. give them your set, if they say the are "fine".

you need to be firm. if you don't get the answer you like / need, go to the supervisor. if they don't help, get his / her boss ect. make it clear you will be very vocal about this if you are not satisfied. i would also get your money, and a core crank back. take it to a good crank rebuilder and get it done. ( i wonder what ever happened to bob at american crank in FL).

heck, if you need, send it up to me. i can get it done for you.

good luck man, don't give in. you paid good, hard earned money, and they stick you with "the plunger of blame"

thats exactly what E and I were talking about yestrerday.....


when I call, they will know exactly to which problem im referring.....I was letting E handle most of it initially as he was building the motor for me, and he got the crank....

but in the end its my $$.....and if their warranty policy is so good than the customer service should be the same...

I plan on asking for cases, gaskets, and seals...and a core crank (or $$ value of whatever THEY charge for a core)....then will send to TLR

I'll give you a crank core if you want to pay freight, stay away from these guys from now on please. Sad thing is they said that they were the warranty crank rebuilders for Yamaha now. I have no idea if this is true, but if it is.....

Do not call anyone at their home phone.

correct, do business through the business.

no fault warranty is worthless without customer service, and most of the warranty and customer service issues with sbt could be fixed with shakedown in their QC department. Most all the recent warranty issues started as quality control problems that left sbt unfixed.

It should never have to blow up like in recent history, and not have to make it to the company owner to be fixed.

Seriously, I have a Brand new SBT crank I bought off Unclehulka that i havent installed yet. We will see...
