Freestyle Moving pole bracket forward

Location
NC
I wasn't planning on doing any more fiberglas work but when i took a trip to the beach and busted my nose now i have too. I want to move the bracket forward has anyone done this on a SN, my hull is already -3 and i have a 08+ RN pole and want it another 2-3 inch's shorter i figured move the whole thing forward.

X2????????????????? Pointless cut the pole a little shorter

Why not...it's nearly on the end of the nose on the rickter, bob, freak and others. I think it improves ur leverage for flat water tricks. I would say its a worthless mod if ur purely a salt guy.

On the few times I've ridden a Rickter, the pole being mounted on the very front was the characteristic I noticed the LEAST. IMO, a better mod would be to put a flip nose on that thing and keep pole in the stock location. Whatever you decide, post pics and give us a review

Its mostly for flat water, If the beach wasn't 4 hours away i'd turn it into a surf boat way to much fun. But it will see surf also. Whenever i do start the fiberglass work i'll post up on what i did.

oh yeah , good point rags. but the question from the op , was where we thought he should move the bracket to. not if we thought he should do it or not ..

i wasnt talking him out of it, i really liked what it did to mine. so to answer yes go green but you will most likely have to buy a rrp pole with the long tubes other wise the bars are going to be way up on the hood.

I will be doing the same thing to a square shortly. It's a free hull if it sucks I'll throw it out lol. Already cut about 5 off the back of the ski.

Awesome i wish i did more than 3" in the back, Gonna rock this out for 1 more year than upgrade to a new hull and leave the SN hull for the beach only.

I have two other skis to ride so this is more of a test for me. Just to see if it will be any fun. Maybe I'll shove a big motor in it and see if it will flat water flip lol.

-5 on the rear is huge!
I'm at about -3.5 (cut straight) and still use a stock length D cut plate. It still rides nice and loose, but still turns great. When i ran it with the flush -3.5 plate it was harder to plane out and ride at higher speeds. Would be much easier to BF, but thats IT.

How does the fwd pole mount ride for those that have done it?? night & day? meh?
