The Remembrance Ride turned out awesome. Kevin smiled down on us with a sunny day the air temp was near 60 deg and the Lake Michigan Water Temp was 52 deg. We had a total of 7 riders who rode. There were about 5 additional people who came out to support and watch. Breakfast was served around 9 am. The ride commenced at high noon. We departed the Anchorage Marina Ramps and rode out full throttle to the pier heads. Each rider was carrying a rose in their mouth. Once we hit the pier head we were greated by a number of tourists taking pictures. We rode around with the roses for about 15 mins. Then we decided to take our turns launching off a wave and offering the rose up to the lake. Kevin again blessed us as the best set of the day rolled in just prior to our line up. Each rider took his turn launching off a 4-5 ft roller along the pier head and in the air we let the roses fly. Those on land offered more roses to the lake in remembrance.
We rode for almost 4 hours total. Finally we shared a Brew in true Bruins style. Busch Light! Each rider partook and the remainder was left for Kevin. It was a perfect tribute to Kevin, and I hope to return many times to this place and honor Kevin's memory, thanks to all who came out...
Pictures coming soon...
