I am running a standard rear exhaust, SS865 w/b-pipe.

Deeper/different tone, not noticeably louder.
Performance gain, moderate at best.

I had one of the new ones in my blk RN... Ski still seemed load for what it was to me, my Dasa 1100 is quiter with the powerfactor box...

But its much better than the old boxes...

Josh , why do you suppose the powerfactor box is quieter . What would be the chance of that box working with a B-pipe . Don't know anything about the powerfactor set up . I'm in the market for a quiet box as well for my build.

I'm moved by DASA power!
I like my new x-metal, I had the old one with front exhaust before, I personally like the sound of HP, but I'm certain my neighbors didn't! The sound of my new one is way more sedate but you can tell my ski isn't stock. For some reason mine is louder than my friends' with an identical water box, and he has a bigger displacement motor. Maybe my mod b-pipe, he is running a blaster pipe in his freak.

From everything I can tell ( talking to several builders ) there are no performance gains to be had from a AM box that can't be had from a stock box . Having said that, You can save about 2 pounds of the very front of your ski ( that makes an AM box attractive if you are needing a box ). I think some sort of flap to direct the sound down would be worth playing with . Some of the older Kawasaki's had an exhaust piece on the rear or the ski. Quiet is better FO SHO .

XM copied the power factor box, that's how the new box started... the new box works fine, I'm putting one in my kids RN next week. The weight saving is nice , dropping weight out of the nose is a big +

I love mine! Ski is quiet just a different tone. It's funny when you hear it with the mag pump too it sounds lime a gnarly motor but it's a Lil ole 701.

here's a pic of an old style and new style back to back...picked up one of each for my 1000 build...will use the other to replace the stocker on my XS 785 billet small bore

(ps those are brand neeeew full spec 49's) :)

I have a new XM box and it is incredibly louder then my old SJ with the stock RN box. I am thinking about switching back to stock.
