Super Jet dual 38mm or dual 46mm

I'm looking to replace my single carb setup to a dual carb setup, however some people say 38mm will be the best and others say 46mm. I'm looking to setup my ski for freestyle and already have a B pipe, girdled head, 35 domes, V force reeds, solas prop, intake grate, ride plate, and msd ignition enhancer.
so what do you think will suite my setup best for freestyle : 38's or 46's

I have a ported motor with 44's and a stock piped motor with 38's, there is nothing I cant do with the stock 38's that I can't do with the ported motor and 44's. 38's use less gas and have great response if tuned properly.

I say 38 any day.

just dumpung more fuel/air into a motor is not the answer. your engine has to be able to burn said mixture as well . well tuned 38s well serve you well.

I just did that swap, went from 44 novi to stock 38, in my opinion i wish i would of not done it. True the 38s are easy to tune but it from what i can tell I lost power everywhere. True it was more on the top end, and the gas I save with the 38s is not worth it either. I run 2.5 gallon kart tank and both carbs suck fuel bad. If i had to do it over again i would of spend more time tunnng the 44's

my motor specs, 770, flatop motor, b Pipe, Mod Chamber.

Ya I was leaning towards 38' s because, to me, it sounds better mechanically, but this guy I know used to race back in the day and he was the one telling me that he swears by his dual 46 setup. Although he is one of those guys that thinks he has all the answers and everyone else is wrong. He's going to love it when I put 38's on, lol. Thanks guys for all of your input!

the op isnt running a big bore set up though. so there is a big difference there.

So I'm still getting the feeling that there are mixed opinions. No matter what carbs I get the whole goal is to always tune them properly. I also know that I don't have as much experience as others may have in this forum, so before I go blow a bunch of money on carbs I want to make sure I'm going to get as much bang for my buck with my current setup. I need quick throttle response and a lot of pull for wave jumping. my concern is that 38's won't provide enough response and 46's will bogg out on the low end. this is where I need some expert help :)

My good friend Has pretty much the same set up you have sounds like, and he was running stock dual 38s and he talked to one of the head guys at Blowsion and he said the best Bang for your buck for that set up is going to be running dual 46s and said it will make a big difference. My buddy is putting his on this weekend and i'll let you know what he thinks.

one of the hardest hitting skis I ever rode was a Big Bore setup ported by Wamiltons (His port specs) with ADA head and OEM 38's. It is about the package and tuning, not the parts.

With just a pipe, head, reeds and Msd enhancer you have no need for 46s. Your engine is still a 701 which is what the 38s are for, that's why they come on the 701. Just jet them right and you will be good. Unless you just want to drop the cash on the 46s
