Custom/Hybrid MSD Total Loss Single Coil... Alternative Replacement?

in a nutshell, small hole burned its way through one of my coils and is arching like crazy.

i fixed it last year with a piece of electrical tape, but has returned.

time to fix it right.

i thought i had read some where there was an alternative to the expensive MSD coil...

i don't mind dropping the loot for an MSD unit, would just be nice if someone was using something else i could get from one of our suppliers as work.

I've heard people use the Harley screamin' eagle coils.

I use this MSD motorcycle coil. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSD-8204 Paul Lehr saw my coil last year and said they are prone to failure but this is the only coil I've ever used that hasn't taken a dump.

This for a single channel though. I think you probably meant multi channel and only one coil but I thought I'd post anyway just in case.

yes..first, brush with liquid tape...THEN apply electrical tape :cool2:
