Ok So I have been in the market for a while now...
And I think I finally found the prey:biggthumpup:

But here are my questions:

1) Do some or all oem "mod's" have a weld around them
--- I have seen mods for sale that have 1 seam / and I have seen mods for sale with 2 seam (one hor. one vert) (are these the limited cut down or did they make two kinds)

2) Also a lot of pipes I have seen have a dent next to the stinger? Is this how they are supposed to be? Is there a common reason for this.

3) What materiarials are the 3 componetns made of...
chamber-aluminum(I can polish that up)
Headpipe- cast??? (can I polish it / epoxy paint / powder coat)
manifold-???(can I polish it / epoxy paint / powder coat)

1) From what I have seen yes, all mods have welds around them (vert) Limited has only the horizontal. Except the FX-1, I think they only offer the mod pipe and it has only the horizontal weld.

2)Have no idea

3) Since they are all aluminum you can polish or paint any of them. If painting use, a good self etch primer before paint. You can also have any of them powder coated.

No, the newer mods don't have the weld, they have a new stamping.

The original mods were just cutdown limiteds so you had a weld.

you really don't need any special screws... basically you just drill and tap a very small hole through both jackets.... then you just drill a slighlty larger hold and tap that in the outer (and thicker) jacket of the chamber. all i did for the top one is set it up so i put a reg bolt in there w/ a 10mm head on it.. that way you have it can never be stripped.. or lost.. and you arent paying factory pipe the ridiculous $$ they charge for the screws.

the manifold takes the normal sized bolts for a 701 cylinder and yes the bolts are included.. When I got the pipe the manifold bolt holes were larger for a 760. i filled them w/ metal filler and redrilled them. never had any problem with them whatsoever.

i was told it was a mod when i bought it.. and no one i've ever ridden w/ has told me otherwise.

if you want it for $370 shipped, let me know

I bought my first limited pipe a year ago for $350, and just bought a mod pipe for $425.

Just buy it at whatever it's going to cost, whether limited or mod, they are worth it.
