I think 2 part foam would help you get a good form so that you can glass in the gaps. As for pool noodles... I put those in my ski for Daytona. They don't hold a lot of water but they do hold water. I was able to squeeze water out of all of them and I'm beginning to think that's why my ski was riding wierd after installing my new pump. What about just installing the smallest versiplugs in the tray and running nothing in there? Water will get in there no matter what you do but if you can keep it drained, any weight that gets uner the tray will be less than any foam.

polystyrene from lowe's is cheap and works perfect for the rest but I think some two part would be perfect for the foothold area to shape them how you want.

No foam! I will never foam again

I agree. If I rode surf all the time, I would probably run something but riding flatwater most of the time, I don't want it. I didn't go with a lightweight hull to have to deal with and 20-30lbs of waterlogged foam until I can get around to ripping it out and refoaming it. Figure $200-$300 in foam, turf, padding, and fiberglass every time you have to refoam. Plus the busted knuckles, the mess, and tubes you'll inevitably ruin in the process.

I wanna give the Rok a roll this spring/summer. We should have a good showing of hulls at the Macon ride this summer. Rok, Stunt, Superfreak 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0, Matrix (if Boyer shows this time!!!), and any SJ configurations that want to come. Get it done Sano!!!!!!!!!

Just got back from Lowes with the spray bomb foam.Sprayed it in the voids and areas in the foothold area.Just got to let it dry and then l can shape it.l thought l had some two part, but all gone.At least with the spray bomp you can direct it where you want.

screw foam...2 part is worthless with all the other options available. polystyrene and drains is the only way to go IMO. 2part foam is only good for shaping a mold to glass over.

In the past I have used allen head bolts through the hull in both rear bottom corners, but taking them out to drain the inevitable water that makes its way into the area is a pain in the ass. I bought some versiplugs to use on my new hulls.

Worked on finishing up the larger footholds this afternoon.l sanded down the foam from saturday and then added more for some voids this morning.Friend of mine had some major surgery on friday.Everything went well! He is not out of the woods yet,so please put him in your prayers! His name is Chris and he is a poster on here. But he has been working on his 03 SJ,stripping it out and doing footholds, tubbies, etc. So another buddy and l went over to his house and cut out and installed his footholds and tubbies this weekend. All that went well. That is the first time l have installed blowsion footholds. They don't fit worth a crap.

Sorry about the long azz story.Anyway, came home sanded down the foam and glassed over the whole area.Looks good and it just needs to dry.

Wouldn't hurt to put some sort of sealant over the fiberglass you just did just to make sure it is watertight.

I hope your friend does OK. He sure did well in having a friend like you to work on his ski while he is down and out.

add a rev in there. I'll come ride!!

You're like an hour away... You should come and hang out regardless of what hulls are there. I've been to Daytona 3 years and I got to know more people at the small lake ride than I have in all 3 years at Daytona.
