Custom/Hybrid Wdk rok hull build

NVJAY775

My home away from home.
The temp in the garage was 70-75 degrees while we were gluing the turf down. The weldwood can said it needed to maintain at least 65 degrees for 24 hours to get good adhesion. So l thought with the cooler temps overnight,it would be a good idea.Dam,there l go thinking again!

I never thought about reading the label... LMAO!

Pretty impressive that you did though. I waited til it tacked up (almost dry feel) between coats and I have to say, it's friggin on there. I'm having a b!tch of a time getting it off the ski.

Turf looks great in the pics, but I know how it is to strive for perfection and then have one oops moments and be pissed.

I'm curious to know how this rides. I like the superfreak hulls but after riding the stunt for so long, I don't know if I'd ever want to go back to a full length hull.

The rok is basically the same length as my fx with the exception of the blunt nose, which makes it a couple inches shorter. The couple times l did ride it before winter,l was very impressed. Not a hard ski to learn.Handles well.l can't wait to see some comments from west coast surf riders to give their impressions!

Mcdog and I were talking about pisser locations the other day and your ski made me think of that. Both us were saying that having the pissers way back is nice because you don't get hit in the face on occasion but we didn't like it because we wanted reassurance that they are spitting water the way they are supposed to. I like them in my field of vision and even though they are up front on the stunt, I don't really see them that often.

wow nice, cant wait to see it in person. How much to turf my ski lol.

Way too much! l'd rather take a beating, man.
l hope that we all can get together before fall again.Maybe one weekend when the water warms up,Hornedogg and l can come down and ride with y'all! Get the KY boys to come down too.

Mine fell apart in one month of hard riding I glued them back together to get me though but I don't recommend them

Kinda late on the shoes.l bought them back in july last year.So far they have held up.We'll see what happens this year.Whatever brand l replace them with, they will be a wakeskate shoe.l gots to have plenty of cushion.Rode with wrestling shoes for a long time, but by the end of the day my heels were killing me.

Started friday evening on transferring the motor from the fx to the rok. Some minor issues as always come up.l had to order a 45 degree 2" silicone hose for the chamber to waterbox connection. And l also have to take the xmetal water box and shorten the exhaust side pipe.lt is not allowing the chamber and intake to line up correctly. But as one has already said to me,a "minor problem".As soon as l get the silicone pipe and fix the waterbox, this rok is done!
