your opinion- black or Drk Grey Turf?

ok i think im going to turf the entire deck of my ski, mostly becuase i think it would look pretty cool.... my 650 SX is an 87 so it is red and white, with a red handlepole, i was thinking id paint the bottom of the ski the same red as the handlepole and turf the rest black, but that would cost 3 times more than using blem polaris drk gray sheets, so im kinda stuck, i dont think the drk grey would look that bad either, but i was wondering what you guys thought?

i bought three grey oem b sheets for 60 bucks.
Definiatly a smart buy over the 1 sheet for 60 in black.

call laurel shes nice she got me a good deal.

good luck

its not that black is better than gray or gray is better than black. it really depends on what youre trying to coordinate the turf with.

wifeys ski, we did in gray turf because black wouldve looked like ass.

my ski, i did in black turf because gray wouldve looked like ass.

on a black, red and white ski, i would go with black, but gray would not look like ass.

hey rick, its a good thing that steve chose to stinge out on the black, because thats what i was pushing for.:cheer:

I was going to get black and red turf for my SJ. I am going to get B-stock grey instead - it looks nice enough and saves me some money.

alright, and i just want to clarify, my ski would be red and grey or red and black...i would be painting the white hull red, so i would have a black or grey deck, a red handlepole, and a red hull... i think the grey is what im going to go with, i can do the whole ski for 60 bucks rather than 180... just too much of a savings to pass

Mc, Actually most guys say it only takes 1 sheet to do a ski. I spent 60 bucks witch is the price of on black and got 3 grey. I did this beacuse i like the idea of having extra and I will probably put some on my trailer.

So you can spend 20 on grey to do your ski of 60 on black to do your ski.

Hope this helps....

i thought the dk grey would be darker when i first got it. i wish i had gotten the black when i ordered my kit. i personally like it better.

that said, i just got 2 sheets of grey cause it is cheap and the ski already has it on it.

Do we get any discount through Hydroturf? If so, how do we get it? I need some mats for my X2. I guess I am better off just getting the kit for the X2 rather than the full sheets? The sheets would be a little cheaper but I think I am better off installing the kit.

Sorry for hijacking!

if you buy sheets, youll have to make your own templates, but you can also do your side rails which looks nice.

if you buy a kit, its not fully textured. the verticle part that your ankles hit is flat, ungrooved, uncut turf and looks like ass IMO.

For the hydro turff discount just mention x-h2o or something and ask if she offers one. Its no real set discount. In my case instead of 25 a sheet for 3 she gave me 3 for 20 a piece.

Dont forget to order padding!!! I asked for a 1 inch piece cut to the size of my tray. They sent me a 1/4 inch peice when i called and asked they said they woiuld send me out the right one and I could keep the mess up!! They sent me a whole sheet of 1 inch!!!!!!!! Plus you get all the free glue and brushes you need.

HYDROTURF ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

It definitely looks better on my SJ with a black hull, red topdeck and black hull fittings.

As Charlie mentioned, it all depends on what the color scheme of your ski is going to be. Grey would not look as nice as black on a pure white ski, etc....
