Your Favorite Freestyle Handlepole

Im going to be buying a pole soon, and i was leaning towards a xft pro
-3 or -4. I want to go light as possible.I dont see alot of pro's running these
and they look straighter (not alot of angle were the bars mount to)? Need
opinions...

I like the WDK pole (I know people are shocked at that response :dunce:) I really do. It is light and is seriously the last pole you will ever need to buy. The bulk of the whopping 10.5lbs is at the base and it feels very light in your hands. Does not twist or flex at all!!! use with a billet handlepoel bracket though, you can bend others b/c it is so stiff. I had a XFT and did not like it much. It is expensive and you always run the risk of cracking it. Mine was covered under warrenty but had a crack in it from the get go. I like the looks of that pole more than the WDK, but function out weights form when it comes to handlepoles.

Price out a Full XFT system, than price out an XMetal system. You'll notice the X Metal saves you money after its all said and done.

Save even more if you need everything. (pole, bracket, bolts, steering, bars)

I do like the XFT looks, bracket, steering, and wouldn't hesititate to buy one.

I really got lucky and picked up a full setup used for $500.

I see a lot of the pros running the Rick roy Products (RRP) pole, but I have felt that and noticed that it is quite heavy. When you are making tons of hp, you can sacrifice a little weight. I personally think the XMetal is a very clean and sexy pole, but if you are really out for the lightest, I think the XFT has that (it is also a nice looking pole). However, for the money and all around looks, the XMetal takes the prize.

Edit: I do recall Pat (XMetal, IKSTEJ on here) mentioning that the latest poles are going to be lighter than the past XMetal ones. I had a discussion with him once regarding the fact that the weight in the XMetal pole is uniformly distributed throughout the length due to the heavy gauge extruded aluminum tubing (well, not really heavy, but since it is the largest single surface of the pole it becomes heavy). He mentioned that he was planning to use a thinner gauge aluminum (or extrude it to a lesser thickness) to bring the weight down. He was targeting 8-9 pounds. Check with him on that, or Pat chime in with an update (am I putting you on the spot?):smashfreakB:.

New poles are 9lbs for the -2 and 8lbs on the -4 (painted)
Stock poles are 9 lbs.

Damn! That is awsome. You should start building a few of those! Way strong, and the lightest thing out there.:cheer2: I like the looks of it too!
