I recently aquired 3 jugs of yamalube for half retail... so i have been running it in my blaster... i went to the LOTO 2012 event and everyone was using amsoil dominator oil (which smells amazing.) So now im wondering if yamalube is good enough... Do you all think that yamalube is a superior oil? should i be worried to run it? Thanks everyone.

If you dont want to run it I will take it off your hands. I love yamalube. It is the only thing that I will ever put in my street bike and when money permit I prefer to run it in my ski. love the stuff.
On the other hand though Amsoil is a pretty great oil to and it has its time and place. You are in great hands with either choice of the 2

So i was just curious about this discussion as i was thinking about switching from yamalube but this is straight from amsoil's website- * Not suitable for long-term use in outboard motors as a TC-W3 type oil, although excellent as a race oil for short-term use where motors are periodically inspected.
I'm more confused now....

Ya I am more familiar with Amsoil as a 4 stroke oil for bikes and cars. great stuff there. good to know that about the 2 stroke stuff. So I would say stick to the yamalube

Which yamalube do yall run? I was at the dealer the other day and they were confusing me and inspired little confidence haha.

As long as its not being used in a PV motor then run with it.. Lubs great but glogs up the PV's something shocking, i have a 5.5gal drum which is only getting used in my whipper-snipper, refuse to put it in my moto, ski or sled.

Ran amsoil on my stock 61x/61x with head, pipe and so on no problems. Decided to try out quicksilver prem. on my new/used 710cc ported 62t/61x and zero problems i have done some long WOT runs. Its 20 bucks a gallon cheaper, with gas prices going down i can ride for under 20 bucks now.

I don't understand why people say they are going to "try out" an oil? Will you notice a difference?

That is like saying, I usually fill up a Sunoco but think I am going to try out BP, I will let you know how it goes.

I'll beg to differ on this one. I usually fill my truck up at Mobil and run 87 octane. If I run 87 from AL Prime, it knocks and pings and will barely climb a hill.

You really can't go wrong with YamaLube, 2w is what you would run. If you can get it for a good deal then do it. I run Klotz R-50, it's full synthetic and a pretty expensive oil ($50+) a gallon.

I bought a bunch of it for $35 a gallon a while ago. I ran quicksilver once and seized a motor that day. Not saying it's bad, just bad timing I guess.

Oil is one of those things thats really hard to judge. Some guys say Its pretty much all the same stuff with different labels, other people swear to only use one type of oil.

Again, if you can get it for half price, I'd be all over that.

ive had 2 snowmobile and 1 pwc motor go down with amsoil.... thats where my amsoil use stopped. there 2 stroke oil is junk! stay away from it! ive had multiple engine builders tell me there would be no warrenty if i used amsoil. kind of a bummer really cuz there factory is 20mi from my house.
