Yamalube 2M or 2W

When I started doing this in 94 the dealers sold 2M (outboard oil) . Over the years it became harder to find this( I am talking about 2-stroke). I can only find it now at outboard dealers. Yamaha used to recomend running Yamaluble outboard oil. In more recent years they recomend 2W (watercraft oil) or TC-W3 equvilent outboard oil. What is the difference in 2M & 2W? :dunno:

Ok, a few guys have said the 2W came along with Yamahas invent of the cat con, the 2M will in time plug it up. Makes sense to me. Thanks, Steve C.
