Yamaha Start/Stop switch issues

So when I hit the start button on my blaster, nothing happens.

After reading some threads on here, I switched the white and black plugs, so that the stop button was effectively switched to the start wire. Upon doing this, my ski began to turn and crank, without me even tapping the red button.

Any idea what this may mean? I gander from my reading that this means the issue does not reside in the switch?

Hook your lanyard up before you switch the wires, other wise it will spin as soon as they make contact.

alright, i did that, and now the red button has to be pushed to spin it.

What should i be looking for to fix the problem though?

A new start stopped
Assembly or you have bad connectors at the plugs

You highly under estimate the mechanical incompetence of a lawyer

In my experience once you've got start/stop issues your better getting a new loom......I've done the repair method and had the same issues shortly after which ruins yet another ride.

It would help if you have the service manual and a general understanding of electrics and switches. Do you know how to use a multimeter?

That bottom spring is essentially a puddle of rust, the contact was sitting very low.
