Yamaha Mid shaft housing

Installing my wsm mid shaft assembly on my Krash hull. Pump is aligned. Do I need to use any silicone on it? There is a rubber lip on the mid housing which leads me to believe that will seal the water out?

Defiantly seal it with silicone .

I'd use yamabond. The newest version. It handles hydrocarbons MUCH better than other similar products. The bilge area of a ski sees alot of fuel/hydrocarbons.

Drop a drop of yamabond in a cup of gas. And a drop of permatex black or gray. Come back in 1 week. And you'll see why they have specific sealants.
