Yamaha = IDIOTS

The more time I spend around my stupidjet the more I think the people who designed it must have been retarded.

There are two holes on either side of the bulkhead of my ski about 1.5" in diameter. I always assumed they were factory foam fill holes and they were glassed over but today I realized that yamaha covered them with a sticker. A STICKER!!

I'm assuming my foams wet and actually kind of hoping it is because maybe that's why ski weighs 325lbs!

A sticker though.. Really?

The round nose boats seem to be a little better than the squares. But yea, they are assymbled by drunken retards. Ive seen hulls and poles twisted with glue everywhere except the glue joint. I hate to say it but Kawasaki does a much better job.

take a look at how much rotax breaks down.. and what 701 rotax has more power? i would rather have reliable and the option to make it more powerful... the 701 yamaha is way more powerful then the 750 kawi....

Don't worry about it, there's probably 10 other leaks that you can't see. That's just the wya life is. Some people have reported water in their hull after defoaming/sealing/refoaming so it's not a Yamaha problem.

sadly the sticker is the least of your worries! lol

It dosen't feel wet inside those holes and I know the foam in my gunwales are dry. It dosen't really bother me all that much either. I think I may hold off until next winter to refoam since I already have enough crap to do but I don't know. I just think it's kind of sad that with all the technology people have been able to come up with today, nobody can figure out how to make a 3x compartment water tight. Or come up with a foam that dosen't absort water, but still provides integrity. Oh well. I have a couple 2x6 wamilton's stickers sitting on my bench so there's going to have to do the job for now!

its flotation foam, it is tons of bubbles stuck together. 99.99% of them are intact and hold no water. so the sticker is no issue if you pour some of that foam out and hold it under water overnight it will absorb no water. of course there are some that are open and hold water but its a fraction and if we are talking about just the exposed outside ones that is so small an amount of water its not worth discussing. eventually over time the foam can absorb water but it takes years.

besides I look at it like weight training, after you get used to moving that weight around its easy and when you refoam and its light you will be the :):):):)tt!

so go drill some more holes in it and stop wasting time whining and spend more time riding.:moon:

I just talked to someone who said they've had good luck using styrofoam, ping pong balls, and 2 litre soda bottles. All with light reinforcing and 2 part foam poured to fill in the voids. Think I'm gonna try one of these when I refoam.
