Super Jet Xmetal Trim Install Help (with Pics)

Finally installing X-metal trim on my own ski and it has been a pain.
1. the steering cable is too long for the fittings provided (brand New cable)
2. When I get the cable hooked up, You pull the trim and it is flexing the steering cable. (Stock nozzle had the steering tab at the bottom, raider has it on the middle of the nozzle).
3. The trim cable is suppose to use the stock steering ball, but that was too short so I had to use the helm joint.

So my questions:
how do i avoid the steering cable flexing?
Do i need to cut the tray for the water deflection.
and any other help to make this thing work better.

How I have the cable: ( I have tried lowering it with some spacers but didn't look much better.

Either grind the pump boss down to clearance the steering or rotate that section of the pump 180 degrees.
Yes, trim the rear bond line. I would not cut the "D" cut out of the rear tray, just trim where it turns down.

If I rotated it, that would put my water fittings towards the top rather then the bottom, correct? That seems like it would work, but would all the dowel pins still line up?

Reverse the stock steering knuckle and put it up top.

I am not entirely sure if I know what you mean?

Never mind, I see now that you have interference issues at the pump. Flip that section. If the dowels don't fit, pull them out.

If I rotated that section of the pump, I think my 2nd water fitting will interfering with the trim cable, but it might work I'll give it a try now.

But isn't that second fitting just a threaded barb, not a cast boss? If so, that might be enough clearance.

You may still need to flip your steering cable to the top, as you pull that trim, with it mounted on the bottom, you actually move the cable in an arc pulling the cable and steering you slightly right. You want your steering cable inline with the trim pivot, or as close as you can get it.

I got the pump flipped, and steering cable on top of nozzle. It looks like it should work. I'll snap another photo and upload in a little bit. Still gotta cut the bond line.

Got it all done, just gotta finish sanding the bond line to make it pretty. Thanks for the help! The water Lines are a PITA to hook up now though. Also I had to shorten the helm joint and threaded sleeve to get the steering cable short enough. I have the steering cable as short as I can make it with out cutting and re-threaded the cable ends. Hopefully my nozzle is straight cause I cant adjust it any shorter.
