Super Jet xmetal billet gas cap leaking:( Help!

I bought a billet gas cap from xmetal not to long ago and put it on my superjet. after riding it for a few days i noticed i was having to refill my five gallon take every 45 min to an hour of riding. then i flipped it over while on the beach and finally noticed it was leaking gas out of it. i had the seal on there that came with it so i dont know why it would be leaking and this problem has cost me who knows how much in gas. I tried putting another seal on from the oem gas cap and it still leaks. I got really fed up trying to fix this 75 dollar gas cap tht i bought brand new, so i just have the oem one on now. Anyone else have the same problem? Im gonna give xmetal a call on tuesday.

havent had any problems that ive noticed.. however, i replaced the filler neck too with a tbm billet one. when tight, is almost impossible to unscrew with wet hands.. how are you not getting water in your tank?

did you transfer the rubber o-ring inside the cap from the old one to the new one? They will leak like crazy without the rubber.

EDIT: I posted without reading your whole post. I'd double check the gaskets. There are two. One where the filler neck mounts to the hull and another in the cap. The one between the filler neck and the hull shouldn't cause any leaks but I just want to be clear that there are two gaskets.

Grease the seal and threads then tighten it up like you don't want it to come loose. After a while the rubber takes shape and stops leaking.
